The Baroque Era (巴洛克時期 1600-1750) came after the Renaissance Era.
The term "Baroque" came from a Portuguese word meaning "a pearl of irregular shape." The word Baroque was initially used to imply strangeness, abnormality and extravagance, applying more to art than music.
The music of this time period was characterized by rich counterpoint and a highly decorated melodic line.
Bach, Johann Sebastian (1685-1750), Handel, Georg Friedrich (1685-1759), Vivaldi, Antonio (1680-1743) were three composers of this era.
